Wanted to love this but it’s a no for me! The fabric is so heavy and warm on its own. The fill seemed much heavier than a lightweight comforter. If you want toasty this is for you!

The down (feathers) are not evenly distributed. The squares are half filled and some have Crushed feathers . The middle two rows do not give any warmth. It has been used only about 2 weeks. It is defective and I’m not satisfied.

I have been searching high and low for the "perfect" duvet insert, willing to spend a bit more to get better quality. While I do think this is a good quality down duvet insert there are two things that are holding me back from calling my search over. 1) The weight on the lightweight is comparable to the weight of other manufacturers' "all season". I was hoping this would be truly be lighter so it would be a legitimate "all season" duvet. Alas, because it is actually as heavy as other "all season", it's still too warm for year-round where I live. My preference would be a lighter duvet insert and couple it with an additional blanket in the colder months. This is warm enough on its own in the colder months and I think it will be too warm in the hotter months. 2) The cover is very stiff and it makes noise. It is not as soft as other duvet inserts I've tried. I also suspect it is the cover that his making this insert heavier, rather than "lightweight". Lightweight is not truly lightweight

The Hotel Collection European goose down comforter met our expectations. We decided on the heavy weight as the Macy's website suggested the heavy fill, if your house temperature reached the low 60s at night. The comforter is very fluffy, and fits perfectly over our deep queen mattress. We have purchased HC bedding before from Macy's and have never been disappointed.

Lightweight is already quite warm
I originally purchased a medium weight blanket, but it was too hot for me (I'm sweating in New York winter with no heat on), and I changed for a light weight one, which works well, and is already very warm. The covers of the blanket is thick and not that breathable, which adds on to the warmth.
