6 years vs 6 months, newer but not better
I had my first Nostalgia electric kettle for at least 6 years before the lid came apart but my new kettle, purchased 6 months ago suddenly doesn’t know to shut off when the water boils. Very disappointing! Now looking at other brands.

Broke less than 6 months after purchase
We have only had this teapot for less than 6 months and it’s leaking already. Don’t buy! Our previous cheap Oster brand tea pot lasted at least 7-8 years. This one is total junk! Don’t waste your money! Unless you just want it for decoration

How about a chime
Great kettle. Love how it turns off once completed but wish it had maybe a chime or something so I could hear it whilst not near it.

It's Red, Retro, and a Rockstar on the counter
Love it. Sturdy. Well made. Temperature guage so you know if it's hot enough for a tea snob's "suggested" water temp. Insulated so i don't burn myself if I accidently touch the outside while rushing around to get out of the house in the morning. The red is a rich, grounding red and I am very happy to have it in my kitchen.

This kettle is so much shinier than the photos, it’s cute, it’s fast….I love it! Have only had it for a week, but it’s awesome!
