Beautiful dress, just not flattering on me

I wanted to love this dress as a bump friendly/baby shower dress. It feels high quality but it just wasn’t flattering on me. For reference I ordered a size XL. The outer layer was flowy and roomy but the liner was tight around the midsection and the dress just wasn’t made for my body type.

Currently pregnant and got for maternity pictures highlights the bump perfectly and the material is such good quality purchased a size medium and currently 155 lbs 5’5, I feel like it will fit great postpartum too!

Fun fabric & sizing rec

The fabric is so good on this dress! I ordered true to size and it's not quite as flowy as the images. Would recommend sizing up if that's your desired look but I opted for a couple tacks in the waist for a little shape!
