Fun YA Romance Collection!

This collection of sweet, slow-burn, young adult romance stories was a fun listen. It was lovely to revisit the characters from Attachments and the Simon Snow series. The final story, “In Waiting,” was phenomenal. The first two stories “Midnight” and “Kindred Spirits” sounded really familiar and then I realized they were previously published together in “Almost Midnight” which I had read back in 2019. “If the Fates Allow” is a Fangirl spinoff also published separately. Since I had read physical copies of those three stories previously, the audio version made it a new enjoyable experience for me. Two other stories were also previously released but new to me. There were several new stories in the collection, making this an overall worthwhile listen.

A lovely and heart grabbing collection

A collection of heart warming, oh so relatable and endearing stories. Each story has a grumpy vs sunshine type of feeling that feels so honest and true. Many friends to lovers situations for those who love that trope you are in luck! I laughed, I cried, I wanted more and more and more! My favorites being Kindred Spirits because the characters feel like my very own Nerds of a Feather, and something that could have easily been my own tale. My Star Wars loving heart felt like I would fit right in with the trio and had me wishing I could leap into The Line too! The deeper meaning here will make your heart happy if you’ve ever felt unseen and in need of a found family. Another favorite was Midnights because the ending had me yelling “WAIT I NEED MORE!” In the best ways. I was rooting for these incomparable quirky friends who remind me of my past self, my past connections, and I was all in from their very first NYE. I think many might too see a high school you in this tale! Then there is The Prince and the Troll, my heart y’all! MY HEART! It took me for an emotional ride and the metaphors to the real world had me in tears. Who knew Starbucks could be so romantic, this one will seriously break your heart in the best way. This entire book will, and it will repair it in a million other ways too while wrapping you in a blanket of nostalgia. Rainbow Rowell’s work is clearly deeply empathetic and reminds us all of the importance of being seen, truly seen by people. It’s about how vital it is, to be loved both platonically and romantically for who we are as a whole, no matter the mess or all of the socially awkward baggage that might come with it. That even if it’s just one person who gives us that, it’s absolutely, wholeheartedly enough The narration by Rebecca Lowman was well paced, felt very natural and without any force. I never had a moment that felt like she was reading it off a page, but always like these were her stories to tell. I loved that! Her varied character voices felt true to the characters, and were easily distinguishable from each other. She added a great humor to the story with her inflections and timing. Definitely would recommend this book and it’s audiobook for anyone looking for contemporary romance, and who is looking to feel moved deeply! I will absolutely be giving a few copies away as Christmas gifts this year! Thank you Macmillan Audio for a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Highly Recommend

It so beautifully done and I just fell in love with each story and the characters that are brought to life in each shirt story. I was left with a little sadness as it ended especially the stories without that complete happy ending
