Regarding the 4…

To the buyer who never saw a clock that only used IV for 4 o’clock, I researched this answer… found pictures of OLD ROMAN NUMERALS and IIII for 4 o’clock is more than common. The reason for the use of IIII for 4 o’clock is that it is more symmetric against VIII for 8 o’clock. More generally, the longer representation on the right side of the clock face helps redress the imbalance of generally longer Roman numerals on the left than on the right.

Incorrect Roman numerals

The numbers on this clock are Roman numerals, however the 4 is incorrect.
