Holly Jackson does it again!

What happens when your missing mother of 16 years just shows back up one day? Where has she been? Who took her? Can you trust her? These are all the questions in Bel's mind. The storyline was suspenseful and the surprise ending was really surprise for me! I love anything Holly Jackson reads. Definitely recommended.

How is it possible for a book to be this good?

I absolutely INHALED this book. Like, 5 hours max. Cliche, but I literally couldn’t put it down (currently writing this review at 2am). I’m usually pretty good as guessing book plots, but the twist took me by complete (and ecstatic) surprise! I enjoy reading all types of books, true crime/mystery/thriller included, but this is the first book in a while that I was on the edge of my seat for. 12/10

Holly molly Holly Jackson did it again!!!

This time we follow Annabel Price, who was only two years old when her mother disappeared and left her at the back of the car in the middle of a road. Fast forward sixteen years later, her family got a deal with a film crew to make a documentary about the disappearance of Rachel Price, Bel's Mom. Her already tumultuous life gets even more up and down after her take with the documentary crew she finds her Mom at the same place where she went missing. The whole family dynamic flared up after she came back. Everyone's been acting weird and Bel cannot trust Rachel. Because everything she did is fishy in her eyes. But it's not Holly Jackson without freaking twists and turns! You'll keep guessing throughout the book. I usually have some theories when reading mystery thrillers but I didn't expect it to be what happened in this book! I am super glad with how the ending ended. Totally satisfying. I love how Holly Jackson's characters are getting better and better from each book. We dive more into a character's mind, in this case, Bel. Why does she act the way she is? She came across to be very unlikeable at first. She has trust and abandonment issues. Not surprising considering what happened to her. She was full-on guarded and tended to push people away or any relationship whether romantically or friendship before they even started. I can't believe with my age now, I still relate to a teenager. As for the romance, we barely got any. It's less than AGGGTM, but still cute nonetheless. I love Bel and Ash's chemistry though. I love how they show interest in one another by insulting playfully. So? Do I recommend this book? Heck yeah, I am!!!
