material very chip

I bought this shelf and after assembling it, it was missing the spare part. I called Macy’s to complain and they told me to take it apart and put it in the return box when it took me several hours to assemble it. When I went to the store to ask if there was an easier way to fix it, they said no… they also said they were not responsible for the item because they were just a middleman. They told me to call the person who sold it to me directly. I am a long time platinum customer of Macy’s but their customer service is so bad I will not buy from Macy’s again.
