something’s changed

I have about six or seven pair of these shorts that I purchased a few years ago. I wanted to get some new ones especially in the cute color like surf green. I don’t know if it’s only the surf green, but I purchased two sizes - an eight and a 10 and both have some weird gapping along the seam on the side of my thigh. It makes my thighs look bigger than they are. I don’t know if it’s cheaper production or what, but I miss the old version.
