Review #2

I’m just so mad at how disappointing this book was. I mean, 2 pages equal a chapter? How embarrassing. Please don’t waste your time on this useless novel. If you want something more exciting watch “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and you’ll get a better plot/twist. What a let down literally ew.

Disappointed

What’s started off as a very promising book changed my mind very quickly. There’s two page chapters, the font is large and the story covers months of time without very little detail. One of the twists in the book is an exact copy of a twist from a very popular murder movie from the 90’s and is just truly sloppy writing. She had me for a little bit, but when I started to realize how little there was in the books, the fact that I could flip one page and already be on a new chapter and the fact that she stole a plot line from a movie, just leads to a very bad book.

A Smart, Twisty Mystery That Hooked Us All

This was my second time reading A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and this time I shared it with my teen boys (12 and 13) as part of a homeschool book club. At first, they weren’t too sure about it since it’s a bit different from what we usually read together and includes some more mature themes, but they were quickly pulled into the mystery and couldn’t stop guessing who did it. We listened to the audiobook while following along in the physical book, and I highly recommend that experience. The full cast made it feel like a true crime podcast and brought the story to life. It’s smart, full of twists, and such a fun mystery to work through together. Definitely worth the hype.

Got me back into reading!

Lots of twists and turns! Never guessed the ending. There’s a teeny bit of romance in here but not too much. Great read!
