All of Us Villains is absolutely incredible. With the atmospheric writing of Where Dreams Descend and the emotional ambiguity and intensity of Six of Crows and An Ember in the Ashes, I knew as soon as I started reading that All of Us Villains was going to become an instant favorite. This is one of those brilliant books with an amazing premise that not only lived up to everything I was hoping it would be, but far surpassed it. Complex, intense, and sometimes brutally honest, the intertwined stories of Alistair, Isobel, Briony, and Gavin wove one of the most complicated and multifaceted stories I’ve had the pleasure to read, going far beyond subverting traditional notions of heroism and what makes a villain into a tale so morally ambiguous that the term moral ambiguity barely begins to cover it. Alistair was my favorite character—he’s a character for anyone who has ever loved a villain—but it was a narrow win; all four of the narrators are utterly spectacular, with such nuance and realism that each utterly leapt off the page into my mind. Their struggles and distinct personalities were so vibrant, and the conflicts both between them and inside themselves propelled the story forward at an electric pace. The worldbuilding was stunning; I’ve never read a book with a world quite like All of Us Villain’s, a modern-ish world where magic is carried in spellstones and bought and sold like any other every-day tool. Every inch of it felt fresh and different; even the tournament, a familiar trope in YA literature, was unlike any I’ve ever read. Fast-paced, twisty, intense, and spectacular, I highly recommend All of Us Villains (and the AMAZING sequel!)

Such a Fun Underrated Read!
I went into this book not expecting much, but ended up absolutely loving it. It’s like a mix of The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake, Vicious by VE Schwab, and The Hunger Games. The writing was engaging and the plot was twisty and propulsive, but it was the characters that really made the story. The book is told through multiple POVs and each character is unique and multifaceted, driven by different motives and values. The magic system and the world-building were also expertly crafted. The ending of the book was a huge cliffhanger and had me shooook

A Tragedy in Two Parts, Cruel Enough to Offer Hope
I bought this book on Saturday, and It’s Sequel Sunday. It reminds of complaints that Hunger Games: Mockingjay was split into two movies to get more money from the crowd. The problem with that is I would have bought all 852 pages once I cleared the first chapter. For fans of Death Game stories, Fantasy of both Old High and Modern Urban varieties, and a tangled web of Romance that’ll leave your heart spinning.

Awesome pick up
I was just browsing and picked this book due it’s similarities to battle royale mixed with spells and crystals. I fell in love with the characters and story. I was on the edge of my chair and all of my expectations were exceeded! I never knew which direction I was headed. Definitely a fun and wild read!

One WOW of a story
What do you get when two fantastic sci fi authors join together? An original duology with a unique storyline and some very interesting characters. Foody and Herman are both well known for their sci fi and YA stories and characters. They have combined talents to share the story of a competition that makes Hunger Games look like a fairy tale for babies. The tournament takes place every 7 years. The winner will control magick like never seen outside the game. I expected a great story and got so much more. This is the first book in a planned duology and all I can say is, hurry.

Devoured this book!
I now own two copies of this book because I couldn’t get enough! I received this copy from NetGalley to review and loved it so much I ended up buying it twice! One to lend out and one to keep. I devoured this book and fell in love with all that it gave. There is a lot of magic, a bit of romance, and the stakes are high! In this book the world of magic has just became news to the world of regular non-magic folk and it is causing quite a stir. In a tell all book about seven champions and a magical game that is about to unfold. (It feels like the Hunger Games but with magic.) Seven families out one of their own into the fight to win the ultimate prize, more magic strength and power than any other family. Wowza, this one is face paced and I was drawn in immediately! I’m so happy that a book two is in the works so I can see what comes next for this lot. I recommend this book for anytime of year but it would be especially fun to read in the fall!
