We Need to talk about Hanna

Suzzette seems to have the perfect life: a husband, a house and a daughter. However Suzzette and Hanna's relationship is complicated. Hanna seems to hate her mother and want her daddy to herself. Will Suzette survive Hanna’s murderous games? Or won’t she? Baby Teeth was really enjoyable. There are two POVs from Hanna and Suzzette perspective however the author separates them by giving them separate chapters so you don’t get confused. However, having two different POV stretches out the story a bit. However, i am expecting a sequel possibly. I would love a sequel where Hanna comes home as a teen to continue this feud.

Great Read

Great Read- quick and interesting. There were slow parts that made me want to skim to “get to the good stuff,” but it was otherwise interesting and I finished in no time.

Not horrible, not fantastic

I loved Stage’s writing in this. There were definitely parts that grabbed my attention, but the ending was kind of disappointing for me. Wasn’t a bad one, but expected more.

Good for a Thrill

Have to say, there were a few parts that made my spine tingle. There were a couple of parts that I had to stop myself and put the book down for a moment. All a very good thing. I was looking for a psychological thriller and I got what I was looking for. My only complain were the parents. It almost got a little frustrating just seeing how they both handled some of the situations. But all in all, it was a very good read.

Creepy Psycho!

I just completed Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage! Holy Cow! I read The Push by Ashley Audrain last year. This story preceded that one by several years but it definitely had the same psycho child theme! The line of progression that I saw was The Exorcist and The Omen, Baby Teeth and then The Push! With those other books in mind - there are definite triggers to this story - so do your research prior to picking it up! I love a good horror thriller and this definitely satisfied that itch! I gave it 5 stars!

Definitely a trip without the drugs needed

This book (for me) was one of those books that after you finished reading you simply sat there and stared at the cover trying to understand what you just read and what the final words meant. Baby Teeth was a perfect pace for me and once I started reading it I could not put the book down and I ended up finishing it after four days. The book certainly has an interesting premise in which the seven year daughter wants to kill the mother in order to have her father all to herself. I didn't find the book as disturbing as BookTok makes it seem but there is a certain scene that could say otherwise. I had spoken about the book to a friend of mine and when I mentioned this scene to her, she found it extremely disturbing. So I'd say if you know what you can handle then yea read the book, if not that's fine too.

Good writing but implausible characters

I read some good reviews for Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage, but ultimately I was a little let down… Maybe my expectations had been made too great. The writing was good, but the characters just seemed a bit implausible, especially the parents (the father) are kind of flat. There was some good suspense, and some good scenes, and the ending tied up fine, but a lot of time, I just felt it was dull. 3-1/2 stars.

Had me at the title.

Picked this book up from just seeing it on the bookstore shelf. Author did a good job for it being her first published book, however, I found it along the lines of "The Bad Seed". I thought it could have moved along a little faster. In places it just dragged.
