Inconsistent sizing

Bought these in store in navy and the 30x30 fit great. Ordered the grey ones online. Same exact pants, supposedly, but when they arrived they did not fit. I couldn't even button them though they were nominally the same size. Looked awful. Had to return. It's a shame you can't rely on the same product being the same size.
