Cute but weird fit

I love this skirt, its cute, the fabric feels pretty good for the price and its a good length, but make it make sense that I got the 1X in this skirt and it is smaller than the XL I got from the same brand in the plain faux leather mini skirt version... Something is wrong with their patterns if the sizing is off that badly.
