Wonderful doll but...

I purchased this doll today for my daughter who is going to be starting gymnastics soon. It’s a great doll but where it could be better is if my daughter could see a gymnast Barbie that represents her. Representation is important. As the mother of a daughter who has watched her daughter’s eyes light up to see Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas flip and twirl all over her tv, it would be so much better if I could also present her with a Barbie or perhaps a Nikki doll who looks like her and has a gold medal. I don’t think it’s too far fetched since it is precisely the case in real life. I love the accessories and that it comes with interchangeable leotards and even a balance beam. The doll is very well thought out and executed. My only issue is the diversity factor.

Lack of diversity

I am concerned and disappointed in the Barbie brand for not producing this doll with various skin colors. The “You Can Be Anything” should be inclusive of children from all backgrounds. “When a girl plays with Barbie, she imagines everything that she could become.” Does this motto not include my daughter?

Great fun for Barbie fans!

My little girl adores Barbie and this is a great addition to her small collection of dolls. So many features and outfits, really nice set that she will play with for hours.

So many options!

My daughter loves this barbie ! she loves barbie and does gymnastics herself, there are many props to make the game more realistic for her, for example the small touches such as the water bottle, or the medal, she also loves changing the outfits. my daughter has spent hours playing with this particular barbie and i dont see the fun stopping any time soon, would definatly recommend !!

Great Toy!

My nearly 4 year old daughter loves this toy. There are numerous accessories so you can change what Barbie is wearing from her tracksuit to having different sparkly leotards and a sports bag to hold Barbie's change of clothing, water, snacks etc. There is also a beam, hoops and batons that Barbie can hold. Barbie is also very flexible so can be moved to be just like a gymnast. Definitely a winner in my house and has kept the my 4 year daughter entertained way longer than anything else has in a longtime. I would definitely recommend this toy.
