Florence Nightingale pursued a career in nursing, a vocation she believed was her moral duty. Enrolling as a nursing student in 1850, Florence made it her mission to improve hospital efficiency and standards in patient care. Carrying a lamp during her rounds in the Crimean War, Florence earned the title "The Lady with the Lamp", providing comfort and compassion to gravely wounded soldiers. Eventually bed-ridden with a chronic illness, Nightingale refused to give up and used her training as a statistician to write books that launched reforms in healthcare. In 1860, she established the Nightingale Training School, continuing to further nursing education while changing the negative attitudes towards women entering the field. Throughout her life, Florence Nightingale continued to use her drive and intelligence to become the pioneer of modern nursing. Amazing Doll!

I recently bought this Florence Nightingale Barbie and was amazed at how amazing she was. It's very hard to see from underneath her dress, but her knees are indeed articulated and the quality of her clothes is simply unmatched. Will definitely be getting more in this series!

Really neat doll!

I picked the Florence Nightingale doll because I've always admired her and what she accomplished in her short life. I really like the idea of having these amazing women who changed history as dolls for our children. The doll itself is very well made and I really like that it comes with a little something that represents what they did. I would love to get the rest of the dolls and have the entire collection, and I hope the company continues making more dolls for other women who did amazing things in their lives. I would definitely rate this item a 10 out of 10.

Beautiful doll

My daughter wants to be a pediatrician when she goes up and so when I saw the doll I had to get it for her. We used it as a great way to talk about the modern history of women in the medical field and she has her first collectable Barbie.

A piece of history!

I love this doll. Realistic features and even includes her lantern. It was a great reason to give my daughter a history lesson about Florence and everything going on during that time. Including the doll stand was great too, it helped my daughter realize this is more special than her normal Barbie dolls.

Love this doll!

As a nurse I was excited to get this Florence Nightingale Barbie. I love that Barbie is showing inspiring women and how important they are to society. This comes with a certificate of authenticity and display stand as well. Although my daughter is a little young to understand the significance of what Florence did, she still loves playing with the doll. This is something that can grow with her and we can teach her as she grows.

Inspiring barbie

My daughter loved to hear the story about her Florence Nightingale Barbie that was posted on the box. This allowed her to have a better idea about the history that went along with it about a strong woman. The doll is simple: a basic dress without a lot of accessories. My daughter says it was cool to play with and looks like she belongs in a real doctor's office. The doll comes with a stand, although we didn't use this function. I would suggest more accessories to hold a child's interest; unless its preferred to use as a display item.

A Historical Delight

I got the privilege to check out Florence Nightingale doll, part of the Barbie Inspiring Women Doll Series. She is beautifully made and like how even though she is a Barbie that she looks more like her inspiration. Her dress is made well and her little lamp was a hit with my daughter. We both enjoyed moving her to play with since she has jointed features. This doll was a hit and my daughter now wants to build a hospital for her to be in.

So fun for your Barbie aged girl

We got this in the mail and my 3 1/2 year old daughter was very interested in it. She wanted to know why she was dressed the way she was and who she was. It was a great learning experience for her! She wanted to look her up on the internet and read all about Florence nightingale. Even on back of the box there’s an explanation on who Florence is. I loved how this doll made her want to learn about history. Florence nightingale Barbie is now the nurse for all her other barbies. She comes with a neat lantern that fits in her hand, a stand and her hair perfectly styled. We love this Barbie!
