strong start, slow second half

I love this series & the writing but phewww boy I do have a few thoughts on this book. I feel like this would’ve been so much better if it was a little shorter, honestly. Which is crazy because I love these books and storylines but this one did feel a little dragging. Usually I don’t love the main characters being separated but I feel like it was SO well done in the beginning. Slades revenging was fun to read but towards the end I was over it lol. Also, Auren being in the fae lands was fun but then she was just traveling and doing nothing and it felt boring. Both great storylines that ended up feeling too long. Which ended up making the most interesting storyline the one belonging to fricken MALINA? 😭 I don’t know if I even care about her redemption arc because I really just hate her lol. And then we throw in a love interest on top of it? I feel like that was solely so we could include a spicy scene since the main characters weren’t together. But I did love Auren seeing Slades dad and rescuing the Oreans that was so good. I’m nervous for the next book bc it’s the ending book and I don’t really love the amnesia trope but the author made me like tropes in this book that I usually don’t so I’m hopeful! 🥰

A strong turning point

A solid 4 star read: I enjoyed this book more than the others. Things are picking up and I’m finding that I enjoy everyone’s POV more than Auren’s, maybe that’s why this one is more fun. It has many POVs to choose from. I was surprised to realize Malian’s chapters were my favorite, although the MMC’s were the most satisfying by far. I’m into the final book now and enjoying that it isn’t just biding its time to prepare for the final few chapters as earlier books did.

Epic series!

Wow. This one took me a while to get through. And there were times I wanted to close the book and walk away I was so frustrated with the FMC and her actions. I just wanted to shake her and ask what she was thinking! But I’m glad I kept reading. This ending! Man. I’m glad the next book is already out! Now that we have the powerful fae in the picture, there’s going to be a lot that has to happen before our HEA. I just wish the audiobook was out already!
