Wonderful heavily illustrated romp
When an evil man (Mr. Spit) steals Gabriel’s parents to add to his collection a young girl named Mink finds him. By some miracle, Mink understands the young zebra as he tells her the story, but he doesn’t want her to tell her Dad so she keeps Gabriel in her room. The next day she learns she can “see” the words (also in colors) of the dog next-door. Many animals are recruited to help them find Gabriel’s parents. Broken into three heavily illustrated chapters, this is a unique, fun read.
