The new formula isn’t worth buying

I have bought the new formula and for a few days I was under the impression that I have bought counterfeit product. Than I have learned about the change in formulation. The new formulation is not worth buying - I have tried it for a few days then I discarded it and I have moved on to another brand. Why mess up with such a good product and change the formula? Hard to understand.

Not A Fan

This clay turned out to be much greasier than other products I’ve used. It’s also extremely firm in the jar, so you really have to work it between your palms to emulsify it before applying. Because my hair is already on the oily side, the extra heaviness didn’t give me the look I was going for. After applying, it was also surprisingly difficult to wash off my hands—even with soap.

Revert to the old formula.

The formula that they changed to is not good, unfortunately. It’s so quick to dry that I often can’t get it all in my hair before it’s dried on my hands. Also: it doesn’t wash off your hands easily anymore. It’s really strange. Whatever they did, didn’t improve the hold or anything.

Not a bad reformulation.

Reached out to Baxter before making my purchase. Yes, the product has been reformulated, as Baxter has changed some of its manufacturing partners. However, I have noticed SEVERAL reviews across many sites from the same unhappy customer, claiming the product has no hold now. It still works great for me, as I remember prior to the reformulation. If you liked this product before, it still works great. When using a mousse as a prestyler, this product will outperform many of my clay-based hair products for longevity of hold, even if I use a mousse with those clay products.
