Excellent general purpose with safety features
Love this pot and use it many times per week. Insert is wonderful for pasta, vegetables, squash, pretty much anything-have even used it to blanch chicken thighs. Just pull up the drain insert, very safe. Handles also stay cool even directly after use, no mitts needed. After burning myself with the tilt and pour pot, this is a godsend. Also an attractive pot, my SO asked me, "where did you get that sexy pot?" Lol

Good sized pot w/insert
Nice pot! I love the insert, a kitchen must! Very helpful when boiling stuff. Pot is well crafted and I really like the design. I already have 3qt pot. Great picking up on sale too!
Really good but needs a better steamer insert.
This is a very nice Stock pot. I bought it thinking the insert was good for steaming. It really isn't. It's handy for boiling things like veggies, potatoes and pasta and then conveniently lifting the cooked items up while they drain. This is a nice convenience but I bought this to have a larger steaming device. I really like this overall. I wish Macy's/Belgique offered a real steamer insert for this. The insert it comes with only allows about an inch of water below the bottom of the insert and the insert is very deep.
