Bella Air Fryer/Toaster Oven Runs Hot.

I have mixed feelings about the Bella air fryer/toaster oven. The color I purchased is not white, even if the picture on the box is white. It's a cooked oatmeal color, meaning a greyish beige. My appliances are white and it's hard to find such a basic color in an air fryer. The oven runs 100 degrees higher than it should. I have a reliable oven thermometer and 350 degrees is really 450 degrees. Anything above 300 degrees is 100 degrees higher than its setting and anything below 300 degrees is 50 to 75 degrees higher than its setting. The bottom inside of the oven is cooler than the top of the oven, which is normal. My measurements were taken on the lowest rack. The back outside of the oven is super hot when it's running. You can burn yourself, so keep it far away from any walls. Leave at least 6 inches free behind the oven. Make sure the cord does not touch the back of the oven as it will melt. Make sure children know that touching the back outside of the oven is harmful. Having said all of that, the oven has a 50's retro look that does not go with my other appliances. I have tried many air fryers and this one, adjusted to the correct temperature by lowering the temperature knob 50 to 100 degrees is not bad. The timer dial is much easier to control than my older air fryer by a different company. The controls are easy to use, but the booklet it comes with is useless. You have to watch your toast until it gets to the color desired. You can't walk away from this oven, or your food will burn. You have to learn by trial and error as the booklet won't give you a hint. I toast at 350 on medium toast setting and that seems to work. A 12 inch pizza only fits if you cut a bit of the sides of the crust off. It's not a usable 12" at all. It's a tad smaller than that. Most air fryers/toaster ovens are pretty bad is what I've learned by trying many out. This one is livable once you see how much your particular Bella air fryer is off in temperature. Use your oven thermometer on the bottom rack to check that out. Your oven will vary from mine. Air fryers are not calibrated well, even if you spend more money. I really don't like the look of any of the toaster oven air fryers out there. They clash with the look of a microwave and other appliances. They have to be watched carefully. I wish companies would make these better, but I haven't seen that. For the price it's okay and perhaps I should return this one after trying it out and find one calibrated a bit better. Not sure, so buy at your own risk. If it's just an air fryer you want, it's better to get one that only does that and does not try to be a toaster oven as well.

LOVE this toaster oven

After about two weeks of use, I can say this toaster oven exceeds my expectations! It’s a nice design element in the kitchen, toasts evenly and the Conv. Oven feature does the same job as my regular oven, but better! Haven’t tried the air fryer yet, but I have no doubt it’s just as great as the other settings. Highly recommend this appliance!!
