Excellent Rich Coffee Taste, as good as it gets.
I've had mine about 20 years, so it's not new to me. I admit I don't use it for the quick cup as it takes more time than a one cup instant machine. But if you really enjoy your coffee and great flavor then this is the way to enjoy your coffee fully. My experience has taught me that if you grind your bean too fine it will tend to clog the filter and slow the siphon effect, so a medium to coarse grind works best. Also as noted by other reviews the Carafe is a little difficult to clean because of the small mouth but that can be overcome if you use your imagination ie; small long soft bottle brush, or paper towels wrapped around chop sticks. Overall I really have enjoyed this coffee maker and the rich flavor it delivers.
Cool coffee
This is so cool looking, and makes great coffee. It's a conversation piece when we're serving coffee after dinner to guests.
A coffee maker with a "WOW" factor!
This item makes brewing coffee fun! When I use this brewer, I feel like a magician who is about to mesmerize an audience. My friends are intrigued as they watch and wonder how it works. It is a real conversation piece. As a chemist/biologist, I can appreciate this "mad scientist" invention. I admit that it took a few attempts to get the hang of it. I researched how to use the product and learned some special tricks. Keep in mind that this is probably not practical as a quick, morning cup of coffee before rushing off to work. This is the coffee maker I keep back for a celebration, a party, a day off, or a lazy morning when I can take the time to really enjoy it. You cannot rush perfection! It makes a mean cup of Joe!
Nice Product
Makes great coffee or tea. The one flaw is the rubber gasket that creates the air-tight seal between the top and bottom. Due to heat/steam and/or age, that rubber gasket will eventually develop the very strong smell of burnt rubber. After it does, that smell will become infused into your coffee or tea during the brewing process.

This is a great vacuum coffee maker! We use this almost every weekend. Makes a wonderfully clean, rich cup of coffee. Very easy to use and clean-up is as simple as a good rinse.
