Ok, Book Lovers is now one of my favorite Emily Henry books, and I still have a few to go. It seemed I started loving this book from the start. I know for sure that fifty pages in I was hooked on the premise and the characters. Nora and Charlie ~ I adore them. I love their witty back and forth manner. The progression of their working relationship, friendship and then maybe more đ (really trying not to spoil anything here) is in such a perfect flow. Intriguing side characters like Noraâs sister, Libby, and the background history with their mom makes it a fulfilling emotional book also. Having a sister, and both myself and my sister being super close to my mom, I can relate to quite a bit in this book which made me very invested and enjoyed it immensely. My heart was a little poked at times with thinking about losing my own mom some day so if this would be a âtriggerâ for you if youâve suffered a recent loss, maybe put this aside until the time is right again. The story book romance between Nora and Charlie is of course perfection. One of the reasons I love this authors books so much, is the balance of romance and storytelling is always on point. Anyone who loves a slow burn, sort of but not enemies to lovers, will find Nora and Charlieâs story a nice break from the world. Thereâs always small bits I come across in books that I keep pocketed as favorite quotes or thoughts and this one of Noraâs as she reflects on life in NY with her mom, and how closely it tied to her love of books and the endless possibilities inherently in both. âLife with Mom, life in New York, was like being in a giant book-store: all these trillions of paths and possibilities drawing dreamers into the city's beating heart, saying, I make no promises but l offer many doors.â I love each and every one of Emily Henryâs books, and the door each one opens to a wonderful little romantic getaway đ„° For sure add this one to your TBR if youâve not read it yetđđ»

Such a great read!
I am not normally a lover of romantic, contemporary romance books, but Book People by Emily Henry was great. I loved it. I laughed, I cried, and I didnât want it to end. Maybe itâs the setting in New York City, maybe itâs because itâs about two people who are in the book publishing world, and maybe itâs even the fun way that a small town, typical trope story is being pulled apart.

A Delightfully Charming Rom-Com from Emily Henry
Emily Henry's "Book Lovers" is a charming and witty escape that delivers exactly what it promises: a smart, satisfying romantic comedy. If you're looking for a rom-com book that will make you laugh out loud and get swept up in the story, this one's for you. What truly shines in "Book Lovers" is the dynamic between the two main characters, Nora Stephens and Charlie Lastra. Their banter is absolutely top-tier â sharp, hilarious, and captivating. The back-and-forth dialogue exchanges are a delightful treat. It's the kind of verbal sparring that makes you root for them from the very first page. Henry also cleverly plays with classic Hallmark rom-com movie tropes, flipping them on their head in amusing and unexpected ways. It's a fun meta-commentary that adds an extra layer of enjoyment for fans of the genre. While the ending felt like it might have dragged out just a touch longer than necessary, it didn't detract from the overall experience. "Book Lovers" is, without a doubt, an enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining read that will leave you with a smile. It's the perfect pick for a cozy afternoon, summer reading list, or a delightful vacation read!

Loved It!
Iâve read others by this author and had mixed reactions so I wasnât sure how I would feel about this one but thought I would give it a try, and I am so glad I did. The characters in this one, as opposed to the others I read, felt real; they were likeable and relatable. The situations Nora found herself in were likewise relatable â who doesnât try to make life easier for their loved ones? â and I felt her frustration and pain when she couldnât reach out to her sister, Libby. Her relationship with Charlie was fun to follow and you could feel the chemistry and tension but also the vulnerability. I loved everything about this book, and I highly recommend it for a fun, summer read.

Solid romcom
Book Lovers is a solid romcom. The commentary on typical Hallmark movies was fun, the banter had me cackling, and ending gave me all the feels. I didn't love this as much as Funny Story by the same author, but I still think it's a solid four star romance!

A Charming Escape with Heart and Sisterly Love
Book Lovers by Emily Henry is a heartwarming and witty romance that explores the complexities of family, ambition, and unexpected love. The story follows Nora Stephens, a sharp and successful literary agent known for her tough exterior and big-city energy. When her sister Libby convinces her to spend a summer in the charming small town of Sunshine Falls, North Carolina, Nora expects a quiet getaway. Instead, she keeps running into Charlie Lastra, a brooding editor from her past. As the summer unfolds, Nora finds herself in a storyline she never expectedâone filled with emotional growth, self-discovery, and a surprising romance. I really enjoyed this book and found it to be a refreshing twist on the typical rom-com formula. The small-town setting reminded me of Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls, with its cozy charm and quirky characters. While I couldnât fully relate to Nora, I appreciated watching her grow throughout the story and slowly let her guard down. What stood out most to me was the beautiful bond between Nora and her sister, which gave the story a touching emotional core. Emily Henryâs writing is clever and heartfelt, and I canât wait to dive into the rest of her novels.
