What happened to the phone pocket?

Lovely color, roomy bag, but with two major drawbacks. The top is not wide enough, nor the zipper long enough, to fully open the bag to reach its contents. Ever more surprising, there is no outer phone pocket, which is a staple in every Brahmin I own, and they are numerous. It was bad enough when Brahmin narrowed the shoulder strap from 5/8" to 1/2", but to fail to provide an outer phone pocket is just shameful.
