Loved the blender, However....
I love this blender but one day the motor blew...smelled like something is burning... of course my luck, it's out of warranty. I did see in the comments that someone else had the same issue. Not sure if I should buy another one or go with something else. :/
Initially loved it, then motor blew
I was incredibly happy with this. It never left any chunks of frozen berries when making smoothies. However, after about a year the thing all of the sudden started to smell like something was burning and it stopped working. Need to find a repair place to see if it is worth repairing. Was out of warranty.
Nice Blender

best blender we've had by far!
We make fresh juice and smoothies everyday. This blender is perfect for our every need, and crushes ice well. We just bought it, but feel it has the power and design to last.

I absolutely love this blender. I did some research before purchasing one as I wanted it primarily to do smoothies. Liquefying kale, spinach, etc. can kill a blender. This one not only has enough umph to do that, but it's a breeze to use and clean up. You can put everything in, turn it on and walk away. The "Smoothie" button is timed...it shuts off...just terrific and a real workhorse. Was well worth the investment.
Buying another blenderf
I've had this for a year-and-a-half and use it daily for a smoothie. It was great for perhaps the first 8 months. Then it starting vibrating and moving around the counter, causing the plastic cap to come loose. I have to stand there with my hand on the top to hold the blender and the plastic top in place, and I'm just sick of it. Very disappointing for a blender that was not cheap. Going with a Blendtec next...at least they have a good warranty.
Follow-up review
First I must say Breville tried to make things right. When that was not possible, Macy's was very easy to deal with on returning the blender for credit. It would be a fantastic blender IF the top stayed on it. Breville sent me a new lid thinking that was it. But you can see by the design, the lid does not go down deep enough into the pitcher to seal adequately (you push it down hard and it pops back up). I make smoothies every morning. The combination of the weight of the fresh fruit and ice along with the pulse cycle, throws the liquid with enough force to blow the top right off. It has auto time cycles but you can't really make use of it and walk away from it without risking your counter covered with smoothie.
