Breville ESP8XL Espresso Maker, Cafe Roma
Product details
Web ID: 139767Breville Cafe Roma.
I purchased this espresso maker to replace my temperamental Krups 4030. After a few weeks of four to nsix uses a day I am thogroughly pleased. For the money I think this is a BEST BUY. I highly recomend this machine to espressor lovers not willing to spend 3 times the cost of this machine. It is much quieter than my Krups and more dependable. As far as speed is concerned....it is ready to go in a short time. I gave it five stars based on value recieved for price paid.I love it!
Best expresso machine
My husband gave to me this excellenty expresso coffee machine about 2 years ago, and I use this machine every day few times, and I m very happy with the coffee that it can make. I wish who like to drink a expresso at home, should try it.
Brew while getting dressed for work
This is a pretty good brand. It is user friendly and priced wisely. It can run a little slow but I am one that does all of the morning maintenance then want my smooth cup of expresso. This also happens to be visually pleasing to the eye as well as the palette. If you are not in a hurry in the morning this is the espresso maker for you.
GREAT PRODUCT
My dad bought me this Expresso maker for my birthday and I love it!!!! I had to get on here and check out what others had to say. Great product, great price, and great for the mornings!!!
Nice machine when it worked
We used our Cafe Roma only on weekends. After a couple of months it started leaking while brewing and we found the PLASTIC coupler that the filter holder locks into was cracked. Breville mailed a replacement. This happened twice again within the year warranty and each time we were down for a couple of weeks. We quit using the supplied POD filter with the Starbucks PODS we buy but instead used the 1 cup filter which seemed to stop the cracking but the expresso made using PODS is not as good with this filter. Then we started often getting only water with the first brew wasting a POD but the second brew would be ok. We always allowed it to warm until the warming light was out. Now it's often water all the time and obviously the heating element is working intermittently. The warranty ran out two months ago and we are now researching DIFFERENT machines. I should have returned it in the beginning but Breville's warranty service by mail seemed ok. Never again.
Great -do it yourself espresso!
We really enjoy our new coffee maker. We love the option to steam milk or make espresso. This makes great foam. Heats up very quickly. But doesn't burn. Cleans easily. We save so much money, not going out for coffee everyday!
It's a good buy
Overall i'm happy with this espresso maker...especially for the price, it's a good buy. Here are the pros and cons: Pros- It looks good, easy to clean, easy to use(i use pods) and seems sturdy. Cons-Its pretty slow. First the water has to heat, then it seems like it takes a long time for the shots to come out.
Doesn't last
This coffeemaker has always had issues as the canister doesn't seat properly to get enough suction. It has recently taken a lot of force on the canister to get enough force to the pump. Although our original Krups coffeemaker lasted over 10 years, this machine needs to be replaced after just over a year.
