Awesome coffee!

We just upgraded our Breville from the Bambino to the Pro. We love it! While it is slightly more time consuming to operate and clean, the fresh ground beans are a game-changer.

This thing is sweet

My friends have one of these, and I loved it so much I shelled out the dough and got one myself. Every morning, deliciousness. Was actually fun to nerd out and watch barista videos to dial it in, and once you've done that, it's plug-and-play. I don't use the steamer so I can't comment on that, but everything else so far is great. Excellent grinder. I still go back to pour-overs some mornings, but for espresso I am pulling better shots at home than I buy at my local coffee shop.

Doesn't seem to be performing well

This is my second barista pro. My first one was purchased in 2021 and was amazing. IT produced excellent foam and espresso. However, my second identical model which was purchased in July of 2025 is a different story. It seems like a different quality. I have not change my technique at all but the grind is different and particularly the milk brother does not produce good foam in the milk. Again I have not changed my technique. The machine even sounds off when pumping.

Awesome Machine

I bought this machine a little over three years ago as an entry machine into espresso not knowing what to expect. Breville did a fantastic job engineering this. Everything fits well, the maintenance is straight forward, and it makes fantastic coffee. The integrated grinder makes it very easy to pour your beans in, grind, tamp, and transfer to pulling a shot. I ordered a collar for the portafilter that prevents the grinds from spilling out, but I believe Breville has added this to the product. I’ve made roughly 2000+ shots and it still works as good as the day I got it. The one issue I had was the grinds getting stuck on the seal where the portafilter screws in. It would unscrew itself while pulling a shot. I added a quick wipe down before each pull and that did the trick, otherwise I would have replaced the seal that Breville sells on their site. Highly recommend this machine!

Grinder needs a lot of adjustment

I've owned other Breville espresso machines and this one isn't great. At least mine isn't. The way it came it could not grind fine enough even on the finest grind setting. Breville tried to convince me it was the beans I was using despite my assertion that using a different Breville grinder fixed the problem. So they are just trying to dodge a warranty claim. Anyway there is a outer burr adjustment which can be made inside the grinder. The factory default is always 6 - if I take it down to 1 I do get acceptable results but that doesn't give me any room for further adjustments down the road and this should work out of the box - it doesn't which is too bad since my old (cheaper) Barista Express poured thousands of shots without issue and it had a pressure gauge which the Barista Pro sorely lacks.

Thank you for your review. It is true that a good shot starts with the beans. If you find you're having to grind incredibly fine and you're using the single wall filters, you may need to change to the dual wall filters.

In general, if you're buying your beans from a shelf or bin, i.e. from Starbucks, a grocery store, a specialty shop, then you will want to use one of your dual wall filters (they're the ones that are smoother on the bottom). This is because since we don't know the actual freshness of these beans, the dual wall filter will help make up for any deficiencies in those beans. If you are buying your beans from a roaster, they have a 'Roasted On' date on them, and you're using them 5-20 days from that roast date, you'll want to use one of the single wall filters (the ones with a lot of holes on the bottom).
If you continue to experience issues, just file a new Case through this Breville web link https://mybreville.force.com/BrevilleCustomerCommunity/s/?language=en_US&region=us&brand=breville with a subject line of BV250806MMR-1. The worst mashine and Brend

I bought this machine three years ago for my birthday, and I think it is the worst purchase I've ever made. It broke after three months. For about half a year, I was trying to fix it, and finally I sent it to Breville to be fixed. However, after I received it back within two months, nothing was fixed.
