Men's Ghost 17 Wide-Width Running Sneakers from Finish Line
Product details
Web ID: 19814789Great shoe.
Great shoe. One thing, the tongue was a bit wide, and it can flap over on the edge and you don't notice it until you start walking, then have to retie. I just watch out for it now. Also easy to put on and off, better than previous versions.

So far I like the sneaker for walking around and going out. I do not run anymore.

Fits true to size. Incredibly comfortable shoes that are always up to the task when running and also one of the best shoes for every day wear.

Took the foot/shoe test which recommended these for flat feet. I’ve never felt more pain while running. Horrible shoes

Excellence Balance
Great all around shoe. Perfect balance of support without too much, cushion and responsiveness. I’ve not had the wear issues of others. Some wear on my R side posteriorly but that’s on me recovering from L foot injury. I think most people will love it. I’m 5’9 175lbs and run 10-25 miles per week road and gravel paths 100 miles so far.

*So far so good. *Fit seems good *Stability seems good; basic design of shoe in terms of linking uppers to soles seems better than most I have experienced in past. *Monitoring outsole wear closely; based on my usage, have probably consumed about 10% of design life of shoes based on mileage. *Are sockliners intended to be removable and replaceable on this shoe? *If I were redesigning shoe, would relook size of lacing holes in relation to cross-sectional size of laces -- when I return from a session under load, feet are naturally swollen and sweaty. Existing lacing setup on Ghost 17 makes loosening laces to remove shoes a challenge.

Great intro shoe for folks starting off.
TL;DR – ⭐ 4.5/5 – Solid beginner running shoe with great comfort after a slightly long break-in period. I’m new to running, and the Ghost 17s were recommended as a good starter shoe. Overall, I’m glad I went with them, but I’ll admit there were a few days early on when I thought I might return them. During the break-in period, the instep felt too tight and dug into the top of my foot. This was likely due to my foot shape and the need to loosen up the shoe. It took around 10 miles for them to feel truly comfortable, but once broken in, they became a joy to wear. The cushioning is soft yet supportive, and they feel light with a nice spring in each step. I also appreciate that they work well for walking, after logging 15+ miles around NYC, my feet still felt great. Right now, I’m running about 2.5 miles a day, and these shoes have drastically reduced the discomfort I used to get from my old, general-purpose athletic shoes (from a certain swooshed brand). If you’re new to running and want a reliable, comfortable shoe that also works for walking, I recommend giving the Ghost 17 a try.
