walking on clouds
Been a longtime Ghost user. My 15's were awesome! had 6 pairs. the 16's, not a big fan. Been waiting for the 17 and this first pair did not disappoint. They feel like floating on clouds! In the process of ordering more now. I wear the 2E and my only disappointment with Brooks is that the color options are not great in the Wide sizes.

My favorite shoe for several years now.
I love the Ghost line up and have purchased several pairs over the years. Light weight, durable uppers wrap my foot securely, feel great on my feet. Notice that the 17’s cushion is starting to creep up in thickness which I’m not a fan of. The soles also seem to be thinning out leading to quicker wear down of the tread…. I’d like to see the 18’s tread thinkness come up and the cushion decrease. Just my opinion. Right now the Ghost is my favorite shoe.

causes blood blisters - toe box issues?
The Brooks Ghost has been my go-to shoes for the past 8 years, and I was excited to purchase the 17s. However, I started running in the Ghost 17 about 1 month ago and they immediately caused blood blisters on the outside of my big toe knuckle ... despite a thorough break-in period. Unfortunately I no longer trust the Ghost and sadly will have to find a replacement for my daily shoe.

Ghost 17 ... was a bit narrower than older models
The Ghost is my fave, go-to running shoe. I've had the 12, 13, and 14 all in a 12 EE. I love the extra room in the toe box. For me the 17 seems to run a bit narrow compared to the earlier versions. After trying a 12 EE which was too narrow, I re-ordered a 12 4E. The 4E seems to fit more like the older model (12, 13, 14) 12EE shoe. Everything else about the 17 is just what I expected, and I'm happy with the shoe in the extra wide size.

Step back from the 16's
These feel like a big step back from the Ghose 16. After a few runs, they have not gotten any more comfortable and feel a lot of irritation when moving my big toe after runs, no matter if it is 3 miles or 13.

Deviated from the tried-and-true formula. I don't like the loose heel collar.
I have been running in primarily Brooks Ghost models since #7. They have mostly been great. The last few models I had before these (I got up to #15) had zero issues. I don't know why the heel collar was changed, but that makes this shoe a let down because now the heel slides up and down while I run. I have a nice snug fit otherwise with 10 wide. I tried tying them extra tight to reduce movement but it didn't help. Not only will the sliding cause irritation but my foot is tensing up to compensate so it's a deal breaker. Otherwise the shoe feels great, so if it could trade heel collars with the good old #15 I'd be set.

I have been wearing the Ghost for several years and have always loved them. The 17 is the first ones i hate. They are giving me blisters on the inside of my foot just in from the big toe. No Ghost have every given me any problems even on first run out of the box. I am going to buy a pair of the old Ghost 16 to replace them.

This is probably the best Ghost edition yet. I received my first pair about 3 weeks ago and as soon as I put them on, I ordered another pair. Great work and thank you!
