What is the shoe material?

Doesn’t seem like it is leather due to how shiny and plastic the shoe looks. I like the shoe, however if you scratch it seems that it will leave an indentation. With leather shoes if you scratch it you could just apply shoe polish to bring it back to life. With these shoes I don’t know what I would use to refinish them. It almost looks like the leather has a clear coat sealer, which gives that plastic look. I would suggest with shoes this expensive to provide clear care and maintenance instructions. I am considering returning primarily because I don’t know how I would refinish these shoes once they start getting small scratches and scuffs. I would also suggest explaining why the shoes are labeled as leather, but have a shiny and plastic look, is it a clear sealer in top of the leather??
