In September 2024 I received a replacement of the same model after complaining of design flaws that caused the coffeemaker's basket to overflow every time I brewed coffee. It caused bitter tasting coffee, and requiring extensive cleaning of the basket, heat pad and stationary parts of the coffee maker, as well as my counter top on many occasions. Additionally, the screw-on lid to the carafe was very tight and very difficult to turn to remove or lock in. I was required to send photos and videos of the issues. This was during my warranty period and was told refunds were not permitted. My only remedy was a replacement of the same model. I inquired whether they had addressed these design issues and upgraded this model, and was told they had not. They also required they receive my malfunctioning coffee maker BEFORE they would ship the replacement. After some protest on my behalf, they did agree to ship and allow me to return once the new coffeemaker was received. The new coffeemaker immediately had the same grounds running over basket issues. The screw top to the carafe was now quite loose, but functioned just fine. I brew coffee every day, and 2 out of every 5 I must unplug the unit to lean it on it's side to clean out all the grounds from crevasses. Immediately after brewing I strain the coffee from the carafe into a large glass pitcher to reduce the grounds and bitter flavor caused by the grounds. I would not buy this coffeemaker again, and avoid future purchases from GE because of the labor intensive photo, video, and explanation pollcy just to get a replacement. It was time intensive and quite ridiculous. You treat every customer as though they are a criminal. Below is a box for uploading images/videos - it does not allow anything to be uploaded.

We're sorry to hear about the coffee maker overflowing. We'd like to help offer some troubleshooting tips that can prevent this from happening. We recommend the use of a minimum of a medium grind coffee. Any finer grind than that can lead to overflow of coffee grounds. We also recommend to use the provided scoop with a flush level of grounds. Heaping scoops can lead to too much grinds/coffee grounds and potentially cause overflows. We also suggest not using a paper filter and the mesh filter together.
Easy to Use!
I really like this coffee maker. I had a SMEG before and it was very difficult to operate and really didn't like it. I was thrilled that this coffee maker is so easy to use. It is very pretty too!

Stopped working in under a year.
This model stopped working at 10 months, we were under warranty, and Cafe Appliances asked us to ship it back and they've now had it for a month with no communication back for a month. People who drink coffee won't go without a coffee maker for 3 months. I would not recommend purchasing as it is an unreliable product and customer care is not responsive. It's unfortunate because the products are beautiful!

We're sorry to hear about the delay with sending out an replacement. We'd like to help with this. One of our agents will be reaching out over email to collect additional information. Please respond at your earliest convenience.
Looks like, but not worth the price and quality.
We bought this coffee maker to match our other GE Cafe Appliances. Extremely disappointed with this product. You cannot brew more than 6 cups of coffee without making a complete mess. The grinds will overflow into the carafe. Furthermore, the coffee doesn't stay hot for more than 30 minutes. Furthermore Part II there's trapped liquid (water or coffee) in the carafe. There's a swishing noise.

We want to help go over the overflow and grounds going into the carafe. There is always going to be a small amount of coffee grounds and oils that splash back onto the showerhead lid when the maximum level of coffee grounds is used. We're going to provide some tips that can help prevent the grounds from entering the carafe. Your coffee maker comes with a gold mesh basket filter in the brew basket insert. You can use a No. 4 paper filter instead, but using both the mesh filter and a paper filter will cause grounds to overflow into the basket insert or could splash coffee grinds and residue on the underside of the lid. We also recommend using a medium-grind coffee, when possible. A finer grind is more likely to lead to an overflow of coffee grounds. We also recommend using the scoop that comes with your coffee maker, and use a flush level of grounds. Heaping scoops can lead to too much coffee grounds and can potentially cause overflows. If you are still experiencing issues, we suggest checking your warranty information for additional assistance. Great Cup of Coffee
We love our stainless-steel coffee maker but are concerned that if we break the carafe, there are no replacements for it.
