4 months agoA true gem for photographers, writers, and artists making work at home
Love this printer. I bought this for multiple purposes about 7 months ago. I am a photographer and zine maker and have been able to produce all of my work at home because of this printer. Color quality is good, especially on prints when using various photo/archival quality papers, even cardstock, and even low gsm papers. Love the borderless... so good. For zine making this printer has opened up a world of possibilities for experimentation and maintaining high quality standards for my work. I produce a lot of photobooks and visual projects, and this printer has enabled me to do all of that entirely at home. Even for admin purposes, the copy/scan functions or document printing are very good. I have printed many thousands of sheets of paper, mostly photography-related (prints and books) of various weights and sizes and am still pleased with how this printer functions. It's very much a workhorse for me and I use it all the time. Ink replacement is easy. The only issues I've encountered so far are some glitchyness with the scanner function with using jpeg setting. Sometimes it struggles to communicate with the computer. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend this printer, especially if you are looking for something affordable and versitile.

Great price and pictures
Bought about 2 months ago and love it! Have printed a lot of pictures and have used very little ink. If this was a regular ink jet printer i would have had to replace ink already. A little slow for documents but thats not what i bought this for. For the price you can't beat it.

6 months agoHow many techs does it take to resolve a printer issue
I would not recommend this printer. It took me four 1 1/2 hour phone calls from the day I bought the printer 6/30/25 to 8/25/25 to get the scanner issue resolved, ie, how to use all the scanner options. I use a Mac. I kept getting error "You do not have the required privileges to access the specified folder. Code 9,244,3" "Grant access to the specified folder. code 244" Am pleased issue is resolved but it's a crap shoot getting a knowlegeable Canon tech. I finally lucked out and the tech knew what to do. Canon is a BIG company. The techs shouldn't be shy about asking their sueriors how to resolve an issue.

6 months agoA pleasant surprise
For a small, inexpensive photo printer the Pixma G620 does far better then I had expected. Add the tanks rather than cartridges and it is a fine little machine. The biggest negative is its limited paper size, just know that going in.

7 months agoTechnical Support
I have one more day to return this printer. The scanner is incompatible with Apple computers. And t's impossible to get Canon technical support. I am going to return and buy an EPSON printer.

Workerbee
9 months agoLacks Practical Design & major Flaw
This item is OK, great specs, but poorly designed and functional flaw. Most people have to place this device in an alcove of other location that makes access to a “Rear Paper Tray” difficult or impossible w/o moving the printer. This is not good for the longevity of the printer or its alignment of the printer head. This is just plain impractical and stupid design IMHO. Also, the scanner function is “slaved” to the print function. If for any reason the printer has an error (head alignment, low ink, malfunction, etc.) the scanner does not work! I understand you need a scanner to print from an original… BUT, many times I just want to scan a doc and digitally save. Because of this “slaved” logic (illogic) coding, I cannot use this fine scanner with all its high specs if the printer doesn’t work!!! …when I do not need to print! This too is not a good logical feature and just plain stupid design. If it were not for its good specs and excellent photo printing I would have given it a 1-. This “plain Jane” all-in-one lacks good design and practical functionality in many areas. The concept and specs deserve better. Beware before you buy.

Do not buy this. Print heads dry up too quickly and Canon is "out of supply" replacements.

Shipping Quick. Product amazing
I have been researching the purchase of a higher-quality tank printer. This was the one. I also read online that the manufacturer is considering discontinuing this because of the significant discount it offered. That's what I read on Reddit. So if you were looking to buy this in the future, you should buy it now before they actually go through it. I've already printed so much, and I have only used a quarter of the ink so far. Easy to setup. The only downfall is the design of the screen, I can't read it without putting a flashlight to it. Its so DARK and hard to read.
