Welcome to the PowerShot V1, a powerful video-first camera with all the features you are looking for content creation, in an all-in-one design. This new sleek design features an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, advanced autofocus, a built-in cooling fan, and impressive stabilization. The PowerShot V1 will let you focus on your creativity without worrying about time limits getting in the way of your videos. The LensThe PowerShot V1 is equipped with an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that is equivalent to a 17-52mm lens for Full Frame cameras (16-50mm when taking still photos) with an aperture range of F2.8-11 at the wide-angle setting, making it ideal for vlogging without the worry about changing lenses. A built-in 3-stop ND filter is available, for bright outdoor lighting conditions, so you are ready to shoot, wherever you are.Get Up CloseCapture subjects in large detail by focusing down to 5.9 inches. This enables richly expressive close-up shots using the wide angle of view and bokeh that a wide-angle lens can provide. The SensorLarger than the sensors typically found on compact cameras, the newly designed 1.4-type CMOS sensor, has 22.3 megapixels for still images (18.7 megapixels for video), giving you enhanced image quality which provides a shallower depth of field, better light performance, improved Dynamic Range and greater ISO performance.Keeping it CoolThe PowerShot V1 features a cooling fan to keep internal components frm getting too hot, allowing for unlimited continuous shooting at 4K60P. The fan pulls heat from the sensor and vents it out the side to prevent overheating, which extends recording times and ensures consistency during long shoots.VideoThis camera is focused on the video content creator, and it shows with oversampled and uncropped options for both 1080 and 4K30 for enhanced sharpness and detail. It also offers cropped 4K60, providing clarity and smoothness of 4K resolution at 60fps, with an approximate crop factor of 1.4x. For more advanced users, the PowerShot V1 also has Canon Log 3, allowing you to record movies with a wide dynamic range and 10-bit color depth, starting at a base speed of ISO 800.Shooting ModesSince this camera was created around the idea of capturing video, it comes with some unique features that enhance your creations. Let's start with a close-up movie mode for displaying small objects (which the dual pixel AF II will lock onto. Of course you also have Movie IS to reduce camera shake for clear videos, and Smooth Skin Movie. You can also use the standard choices of full-auto, full manual operation, and Shutter- or Aperture-priority exposure. On top of all of this, you can even register up to 3 custom shooting modes (C1, C2, C3) for video or still shooting. In a first for PowerShot cameras, the V1 includes a switch for video or still shooting, allowing you access to all shooting modes on the mode dial.Keep it SteadyYour videos will look even more professional with both lens optical IS and Movie digital IS functions from our EOS mirrorless cameras, working separately or together to provide fantastic image stabilization. Even if you're walking while shooting, your footage will look natural and steady. We've also introduced Subject Tracking Image Stabilization, which prioritizes stabilization at the subject's location when it's off-center.

Everything but the Lens

I have been a fan of Canons advanced point and shoots for years and this is a strange bit of good and bad but I’m also glad it exists and even that I own it. The video works wonderfully in almost all regards and functions. The fam works wonders though still can’t negate the battery life. The sensor size increase means it isn’t pocketable anymore but the bitter issue is that canon small sensors just aren’t as good as others and despite the size increase it isn’t much better than the 1” Sony sensors of old. The good is that because it’s a Canon sensor the autofocus actually works well in video. The photography side is not as great. The biggest issue is the lens that while relatively fast and sharp just doesn’t have the reach that I wanted. I realize that it is for video and vloggers but 24mm is fine. I say that as someone that has used the G7xiii for that purpose and it works great. If you want to isolate a subject you really just can’t with this. There is no zoom or portrait length and while I know some will argue 50 is a portrait length just remember you now have a smaller sensor so compensation isn’t what you could do with the old 1”. So why get this over the G7xiii. Well 4k video if you need it for longer recording sessions, especially if you can plug it in. A small footprint home studio video camera with goo tracking autofocus. I might also suggest this for some real estate agents on a budget that includes the lens. Still not a bad c camera that can work as an A camera but not nearly as versatile and feels lacking for a lot of jobs.

Great features, wonderful quality

Bought this 2 months ago for my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She used it a lot and used it too when we went to italy. The only thing is she added a flash which is not a big deal. Picture perfect quality for us with or without a flash. Yes, I would recommend this product.

not worth the price

I decided to return this camera after realizing it doesn’t include a flash or a memory card. For the price, I expected a bit more to be included in the box.

Good camera

I love this camera!!! Takes awhile to figure out the settings if you choose to get a flash and hotshoe since the camera doesn’t sync with the flash. Also the software updates are random and wiped my memory card the first time I had one, disappointing but most likely user error.
