Falling apart after 3 months

I bought the dress in black and it's very soft and very flattering. The dress is very thin cashmere. I've worn the dress 3 times in 4 months and it's coming apart at the seam between the turtleneck and body of the dress. I always follow washing instructions so it's either the quality of the dress or a defective garment. What a bummer because it really looks great on a curvy figure.
