Great book but dull at times

“City of Fallen Angels” though not my favorite book in the series, was amazing. The title really sums up the book in such a cool way, it hints at what the book is about but you would never guess what was going to happen. This young adult book by Cassandra Clare is a mixture of fantasy and adventure. The book series isn’t a best seller for nothing. It really draws you in like a fish on a hook. Once you start to read it it’s almost impossible to stop. This book leaves off sometime after the last, Clary and Jace are going through a bumpy time in their relationship and Jace has started to avoid her. Clary, clueless to why this is happening is completely oblivious that her best friend has been getting attacked by strange mortals. In the beginning it is hard to see the relationship between the two problems but it ties it together into a neat bow by the end. This book reminds me of the saying “an eye for an eye” as Jace had been brought up from the dead, it’s only fair right? Though I do feel this book goes off of a few limbs and is quite dull at times, it was a great read. This book is mainly targeted towards young adults, but if you're looking for a good fantasy series this is the book for you. It can be hard to stick with the series at times but the end is always worth it. This is the fourth book of the series and it was quite satisfying to see Clary and Jace’s relationship grow. In conclusion, I think this was a great book and I recommend it to others who are reading the Mortal Instrument series. Mrs. Clare really went all out for this novel and I really appreciate it. The ending is quite a cliff hanger and I intend on reading the next book, though skeptical it will be as good. I hope this review has proven useful to you, I hope you read it!

a bit angsty

Listen. I really enjoyed this, as I've enjoyed every book in the Shadowhunters world, but the entire book was so angsty and dramatic, and don't even get me started on the dumb choices made throughout the last 1/3.

An experience of Truth and Lies

This book is a fascinating mixture of truths and lies, what is real and what is not. Even though things seem a certain way, they are almost never what they seem. Whether it is about love, desire or murder. Every character in this book has a unique way of disguising their truths in warped lies. It teaches that things aren’t always what they seem but they are far more complex, and their whimsical complexity is something that can evade most people, even if it’s blatantly presented to them. This book makes you cheer, sob and scream in anguish at its wonderfully created characters and the lies they conjure, the truths they evade. It will leave you questioning what you believe to be real and what not through a tale meticulously woven by its brilliant author. And it will surely leave you shocked by its bizarre but captivating story.
