Sturdy where glass cup meets stem

I received these glasses for my Bridal shower recently. I had originally had the Macy's brand Martini glasses on there, but they discontinued them, so I replaced them with these online (did not actually see product in person at store). When I received them for my shower (shipped by Macy's with no breakage), the first think I noticed was how thick and sturdy the glass seemed where the cup meets the stem. But it still thins out toward the top lip of the glass, so it is comfortable to drink out of. My fiance and I used these after the shower and they worked wonderfully. Would make great dessert glasses, too! I might have to add additional sets for dessert/appetizer dishes (we only registered for one set, because we are not big martini/cocktail drinkers, and neither are our friends, but we figured that it wouldn't hurt to have a couple on hand just in case!)

Everything was great!

The glasses shipped on time and nothing was damaged! They looked great and made it to the bride before the wedding!
