I purchased this item as well as another "The Cellar" CLOSEOUT item (4-piece Wire Basket Serving Set) to use while entertaining a small group (6-10) of family members. The 3 baskets could be placed on the top shelf -- one holding knives, forks, spoons (stainless steel or disposable, depending on the food served). The second shelf could hold folded napkins (cloth or paper) along with individually packaged wet wipes. If celebrating a birthday with cake and coffee, the top shelf baskets could each hold some Keurig K-cups (one with decaf, another with caffeine, and the last with flavored). The second shelf could hold the vessels with real cream or powdered creamer, loose sugar or packaged. Again, some folded napkins. The ideas are endless -- especially when serving food (wrapped or unwrapped) on both shelves. This server is not only for the kitchen -- as another reviewer stated. She is using in her bathroom to tidy up counter space for herself and husband. Her idea is fantastic. I also thought one could use in an office environment (especially in a modern setting) -- Top shelf holding stapler, tape dispenser, handheld hole punch, hand-held calculator, scissors, ruler, etc.; and second shelf holding small containers with paperclips, rubber-bands, thumbtacks, erasers, glue-stick, etc. -- or two sizes of stacked white envelopes. Using one's Star Money and/or Macy's percentage-off coupon makes this purchase even more inviting.
