Same size is not the same size

I ordered two pairs of these cargo shorts in different colors for my husband. He likes them very much. However, even though both pairs are the same size, one pair fits perfectly, but the other pair is a little too large in the waist. I will adjust them with a couple of darts, but be aware that same brand, same design and same size will not necessarily fit the same.
