These tens are expensive. The first time I used it was just after the one year warranty and the pole broke trying to open it up. This is my second Colin intent in a row that a pool broke. Just trying to open it. I now have two broken tents in my garage that are essentially brand new and garbage. I sent in all the photos and told them that it was the first time use and it is not being covered because it is outside of the one year warranty.

Easily Broken Hinges
This tent was nice while it lasted, but today it broke. We were putting it away at the end of a camping trip and heard a snap and the middle hinges for the middle poles both broke. I took the hinges off to look at them and they don't look like quality products. The plastic looked like it just got brittle too easy and at least one of the screws were just threaded into plastic. I can't recommend this tent because of the hinges. They seem like they will fail too easily.

Good value tent, but needs some improvements
I have owned the non-blackout version of this tent for about 10 years. It has served me and my family well. Being over 6' tall, i can stand up straight inside. The floor is 10'x14' and fits two cots (for my wife and I) and an air mattress for the boys with room left over. The tent sets up pretty quickly but there are some caveats. Even with the tent staked down, the poles will still rack either left or right so it won't stand straight. Once the rainfly is on and staked down the tent won't rack and you can straighten up the tent. But with the rainfly on, there's no viewing stars. To work around this, I bought webbing, ratcheting tie-downs, and ground anchors to hold the tent without the rainfly. Once these are in place, the tent is very rigid, the door works well and no issues. The bag that came with the tent is very light and has a light duty zipper that eventually broke. Also, there are no compression straps on the bag. After the first use it was impossible to get the tent small enough to fit in the bag without opening the bag's expansion zipper. I addressed that issue by using tie down straps once the tent was collapsed to compress it. I've purchased a large duffel bag with compression straps as well to further shrink the tents packed size. Overall, this tent has been a great value, but I had to add my own improvements to make it truly excellent.

Not good in rain or wind.
In theory this is a great tent but if you get any bit of rain you will get wet. We have had to set a tarp up over our tent every camping trip and this last one the wind collapsed the tent on us despite our tarp. We will be getting rid of this tent. Do not recommend.

Poor quality.
Tent collapsed in a light wind and rain storm. The attached hub twisted and bent. This happened after two step ups.
