Easy setup, tons of space, and dependable comfort

My young son and I use this tent for our scout camping trips and we absolutely love it. It is incredibly easy to set up with the poles which is huge when you are arriving late or packing up with a kid. There is plenty of room for gear and sleeping comfortably, and it stays surprisingly warm during colder trips while still being cool in hot weather thanks to great venting. It has held up well in harsh weather and feels durable and dependable; the fabric doesn’t let moisture in. A fantastic family and scouting tent.

I recently took the Carlsbad 4-Person Dome Tent with Screen Room on a weekend camping trip, and I’m really impressed. The “Dark Room” technology truly made a difference — we were able to sleep in past sunrise and didn’t feel overheated, even with the morning sun beating down. According to Coleman’s specs, this feature blocks up to 90 % of sunlight and reduces heat inside the tent compared with a standard model.  What stood out most was the screen room: a comfortable, bug-free lounge area (or even extra sleeping space) that gave our small group extra flexibility. With the full floor in the screen room, it was easy to stash gear or relax after a hike.  Setup was quicker than expected for a tent of this size. The dome frame felt stable, and the ventilation and window awnings helped keep the air flowing nicely.  Overall, if you’re looking for a car-camping tent in mild to moderate weather, the Carlsbad 4-Person offers strong comfort, smart features, and a good value.

Lots is space

Owned this for a while, and it’s very easy to put up and assemble, has never given me any problems. However over time, there has been wear and tear and there are some holes. Besides that it is weather resistant and very spacey

Very sturdy

Gone camping on the beach at false cape. first time ever camping and first tent. Darkroom worked really good on the beach in daylight. kept the weather out and mosquitos out. ventilation was great.

Best tent I’ve had!

Seriously, this has been the best tent I’ve owned. It has withstood several years of camping trips without any rips or tears or leaks! It is very spacious and even has a front porch type area to the tent for you to remove shoes or sit in and have coffee in the morning without bugs bothering you. I love the little pockets it has inside for my phone and keys when I’m sleeping. It also has a loop at the top of the tent to hold a hanging light, which is a phenomenal feature. I will purchase this tent again if my current ever has an issue!

Not rain-proof.

Terrible tent for rainy / damp weather. The tent sides are permeable and I got totally soaked. Otherwise, no issues with the rest of the tent. Disappointing that was not rain / waterproof.
