Great coffee making machine.
Just had the machine for two weeks, very impressed with both the compactness, look and how good the coffee is that the machine makes. The frother wand works really well and makes a great latte, cappuccino and hot chocolate. May not be the machine for many cups a day as the bean capacity is small but for one person it will last nearly a week for a cup or two a day. Instruction manual a little limited but is ok and covers all the important bits. All good š

5 months agoNot as versatile as I had expected
Canāt say I agree with the previous review, having replaced a cuisinart bean to cup that made a pot of coffee, this automatic machine, seems to always want something, last week when it wanted beans after having dispensed half of a double espresso, once the beans were added I expected to get the other half, but I had to press the button again, it went back to the beginning and delivered a double expresso, so now had a triple expresso, yesterday wanted it to dispense some hot water, to finish a coffee but again it wanted grouts emptying so all operations stop. The machine does not seems to be as versatile as I had expected, canāt alter strength or volume of what is dispensed

Iāll start by saying that I had never heard of Cuisinart, but tried this machine at my brother-in-lawās in the USA when I was visiting and liked the look and feel and simplicity of it as an automatic coffee machine. I had owned two other brands of bean to cup style machine before and this one had small details and finishes that my other two didnāt ā maybe because they were older models? Anyway, here is what I really like about this Cuisinart coffee machine: Arrived very well packagedā¦which is a good start! * The instruction manual is clear, with pictures and text which is easy to follow and I setup the machine in no time * The machine itself is sleek and feels premium, with solid construction and finishing, even down to the drip tray * Small details like the side panel being magnetic, so easily opens and closes to access the interior of the machine where the coffee gets tamped ā this also makes it really easy to clean! * The bean hopper lid has a rubber seal all around it that I assume helps keep the coffee beans fresher for longer? * You can set up to 5 grind settings for the coffee beans * You can also setup a favourite length and type of coffee thatās unique to the other options * The control panel is clear and all touch controlled ā there are extra icons that appear when you need to empty the coffee cake dispenser or re-fill the water tank * I was pleasantly surprised when it reminded me to fill up the coffee bean hopper before running a coffee, as my previous machines didnāt have that and Iād just end up with a very watered down ācoffeeā! * The spout moves up and down and there is enough clearance even for taller take-away style mugs, but if you have an extra tall one, it comes with an extra base that sits under the coffee machine and elevates it all a bit more which I found quite a nice touch! * It has a steaming nozzle, but I haven't tried that out yet, as I drink mostly black coffees * It came with 3 descaling sachets/tablets that I havenāt been prompted to use yet From having used the machine regularly (daily for 3 weeks-ish now), Iām very happy with it and the only things I could see improved are: * I think the drip tray could be a bit wider/deeper to fit wider based mugs ā I have an old Sports Direct mug that sticks out a bit, but still works fine * At first I thought that the machine would always run a rinse cycle when I first turned it on, which was time consuming, but found you can override this quite easily by pressing the on/off button or pressing the flashing rinsing light that comes on as it's about to start the rinse cycle Overall, Iām very happy with my new Cuisinart automatic coffee machine and I would recommend this machine to anyone (and already have to one friend!). Donāt be put off by the brand if you havenāt heard about them!

Great coffee with one touch!
The Cuisinart EM550U is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. Very easy to use, grinds beans and makes a smooth rich espresso with a lovely crema. I like the one touch drink options - especially the favorite drink setting. With this you can set your preferred morning cup making it even easier to get going with the day. As with all bean to cup machines there is some cleaning, which is simple to do but this is led by the amount of cups you have made. I also found this machine to be quieter than my previous. All in all i recommend this machine!
