The rester just makes it so you have a safe place to put the wok down... but I can't stress the importance of this enough... you're dealing with such hot objects and don't want to overcook your food. Safety first, food second--but it's a must have!

Versatile
This is a great stand to keep the wok off of surfaces and works well with the wok's round bottom. It's very stable and you can flip it upside down, so it can fit different size woks. I use this both on the table part of the wok station and for serving food when I bring it inside.
