I would love to say that i loved this book but that was not the case. This book is vary well written but the poor thing about it is it just could not keep me interested, and i am the type of Pearson that once i start a book i need to finches it as fast as possible, but that just was not the case with this book. i had high expectation's with this book just to be let down ( i took a rick and went out of my normal genre to read this)

Great book for business leaders
I ran a book club with some coworkers and we read this book, separting it into four sections and meeting every couple weeks to discuss it. There’s way too much content to fit into our small discussion windows, though! The bottom line for this book: if you work with other people in ANY capacity, you should read it. It does such an excellent job going over all of Brene Brown’s areas of research that truly matter and make an impact when people are working together. It doesn’t matter if you’re not in a leadership position—*everyone* can benefit from the concepts in this book. In some ways I felt like this book was a summary of all of Brene’s other books, except it did include new information, but also distilled the existing information in ways that are super useful to the average worker. So if you’ve already read some Brene Brown books, you’re still going to get something new out of this one. And if you haven’t read any at all yet, that’s fine! Everything is still described with great examples, so you won’t feel behind. There is a LOT of content, though. It takes some time to process it, and will probably take a few re-reads to really internalize. You have to *live* this stuff to really let it sink in, and that’s a tall order if you’re new to it. Okay, it’s a tall order no matter what. Being vulnerable is hard. Daring to lead is hard. But worth it. If you’ve ever looked at your workplace and thought “our communication could use some work” (or variations less charitable than that phrasing), you’d benefit from reading this book. And it is stuff that you can put into practice EVEN IF you aren’t in a leadership position. I can’t stress that enough. You really will benefit from this book.
