4 years agoA very good, short read with surprising depth
I read this in a day and I'm surprisingly in love with it. Needs to be read after reading the first three books in the Stormlight Archive Series, so keep that in mind. But as usual, Sanderson manages to pack an amazing amount of intrigue, development, and character growth in so few pages. And all of it grounded in very real messages that resonated strongly with me and likely will with others. I liked this in-between tale a little better than Edgedancer because of the really nice and thoughtful messaging woven throughtout, but both are stellar, and necessary entries in the series.

Suspense on the Sea
This installment more closely follows Rysn and her newfound position as captain of her own ship. As she learns to navigate physically without the use of her legs, she must also learn to move through the social and political traps set all around her in a bid to derail her mission and destroy her crew.
