I have heard a lot of reviews saying this book was bad but personally, I liked the book and was happy I took the time to sit down and read it. I will admit this book is a bit slow and takes a while to get to the main plot of the story. That's what I enjoyed about the book though it made me feel really attached to the characters and the plot. I enjoyed the point of view from the unreliable narrator because it really made me think about the plot in the book and made me even think outside of the book about society. I think this book should and deserves to be on New York Times Best Sellers list. I think this because this isn't a book you hear about every day. This book is unique and provides a different perspective than readers are used to. This makes the book interesting and makes you want to keep reading it. This book provides readers with the thought "is this really happening" and the thought of what's real and what's not. This story provides an unreliable narrator which changes our perspective of their point of view. As readers, we are supposed to follow the narrator's opinion because it's what’s being trained to think as we're reading the book. This story provides a narrator that is not so likable and can make the reader, not like our narrator. This changes the reader's interpretation of the book.

A love note to Miss Moshfegh
Reading anything by Ottessa Moshfegh is always a pleasure. Her unlikable narrators are surprisingly fun to read about. In this novel, the reader follows Vesta, an elderly widow, and her dog as the two try to solve a murder. Only, Vesta might not be the most reliable narrator... Great read!!
