Demeyere4.8-Qt. Stainless Steel Asparagus/Pasta Cooker Set

Fabulous pot! BUT:

For pasta, the included strainer is worse than useless for anything stringlike. Its extremely coarse texture will capture your capellini, spaghetti, linguine, and whatever, and make you spend a ridonculous amount of time freeing it before serving. I only use the thing with the strainer when I'm cooking big, fat pasta of some sort. Even then, because of its cheese-grater texture, the strainer's an absolute PIG to to clean. The pot and lid, though, are top-drawer. I use them to make pasta every week. Without the accursed strainer. I've yet to use it for asparagus, but I anticipate similar cleaning problems. Getting all the fragments out of that strainer will likely destroy my scrubbers and brushes.

Wanted to like it but couldn't

Spaghetti gets caught on the bottom of the interior basket and as it cooks, gets stuck as the pasta expands, leaving you with a mess when you have to drain it. Returned this item. I wanted to like it but just couldn't. Strainer seemed cheap and not stainless - which could be made of toxic materials

This is fabulous! I wish i had bought it years ago. I cook pasta often, and now i don't have to bother with a pot and separate colander.

Smaller than I imagined, but beautiful

Love the design

If you, like me, often have noodles, dumplings, or sweet dumplings for meals, this pot would make your life so much easier! You don’t need to ever worry about noodles touching the bottom of the pots and becomes quite sticky, or that the water starts to boil and you have too many noodles in the pot that the water starts to spit out.

Quality, thick 3 ply construction base means it heats up quickly and evenly. My primary use is pasta, which it's great at, but I'm finding many more uses. I love making a soup in it that requires my immersion blender; they seem to go hand in hand. Looking forward to using it during the holidays; with it's tall, slender design, it's perfect for the 5th pot on my cramped stovetop.

Asparagus Pot!

This cooker is one of my favorite specialty pieces of cookware. I can finally cook tall ingredients without needing to whip out an incredibly large pan to fit food such as asparagus and a perfect tall saucepan. It's also great for boiling potatoes and cooking pasta! You could even use it to boil eggs. The basket makes draining and rinsing pasta incredibly easy. This cooker can also used deep-frying french fries and sweet potato fried and chips. Super convenient!
