This is a must read!

Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto is an A+ read that any Auntie (or human!) would approve of. Her calculated, comedic writing perfectly encapsulates murder, comedy, and love intertwined in one story. Jesse’s talent for surprise will make you audibly gasp with every turn of the page. Her characters are so lovable and memorable that you’ll want to adopt them and make them your own! I’m so glad I discovered Jesse’s writing this year. Her candor, wit, and tonality remind me of my two best gal pals. Each page is like savoring your grandmother’s favorite dish with your eyes until you reach the very last chapter. It’s a masterpiece that will inspire open-minded thinking, gender equality, and human rights. On a professional level, Jesse and a few other author friends inspire me daily to continue to write my first manuscript. I am 56K in and my BETAS are loving the story of my psych/suspense/medical horror with a nice injection of humor, obviously. I hope to find an agent who can see my crazy vision and believe my story is more than a story. It’s an empowering, female-first, body-positive outlook that social media has garnered too much power over. We need to take back our own divine light and apply it to ourselves. Appearance is not how one always appears. Today, I wandered into the library looking for a treat and I found Jesse Q. Sutanto’s “I’m Not Done With You Yet”. Now, I’m sure I’m not the only one who considers books their candy store, especially when they’re in their mid-life ages. I’m so excited to have Jesse in my life, and I’m sure you would be too! So what are you waiting for? Go get yourself a taste of Jesse’s magical writing! It’s sure to have you laughing at the horror/thrillers of 2023.

Fun!

This was fun! I have had this book on my shelf for a long time and have heard great things about it so I thought it was finally time to give it a try. Meddy was a great character and her Aunties were just a lot of fun. I couldn’t wait to see how this group of characters would work everything out in the end. Meddy’s mother sets her up on a date with what she thinks is a nice boy. It turns out that he isn’t so nice and things go very wrong on that date. So wrong that the night ends with Meddy and her Aunties trying to figure out what to do with his body. Everything that you could imagine (and some things you couldn’t) going wrong does and this family ends up trying to deal with the body while fulfilling their roles in their family’s wedding business. Risa Mei did a fantastic job with the narration. She was able to bring this colorful cast of characters to life. Once I started listening to the story, I didn’t want to stop. She really brought the humor of the story out and made the listening experience very enjoyable. I do believe that her narration added to my overall enjoyment of the story. I would not hesitate to recommend this book to others. I had a lot of fun with Meddy and her Aunties and cannot wait to see what kind of trouble they find in the next book in this series.

So Fun!

Meddelin Chan loves her family, but sometimes working in a wedding business with her mother and four aunties can be a little much. But when Meddy accidentally kills her blind date, they all come to the rescue to help her hide the body. Unfortunately, hiding a body becomes more challenging than they hoped, and they somehow have to dispose of the body during the biggest wedding their family business has ever put on. To make it even more complicated, Nathan, Meddy's college love and maybe the love of her life, suddenly reappears. Can Meddy and her aunts pull off hiding a body, creating the perfect wedding, and charm her ex back into her life? I adore this book! It is so funny and full of surprises and twists! The lengths this family went to hide the body was so funny, and I couldn't stop laughing at the different places the body ended up! But even with the incredibly comedic moments, the moments between the family and how they loved and respected each other was so moving and sweet! This is one of the best books I have read this year and definitely one of the funniest!

Good color scheme and portrayal of characters

A literal Laugh out loud book with a tiny bit of romance. This is a absolutely hilarious group of characters that are thrown through so many loops and plot twists. Couldn't put down recommend if you're looking for a good time!

Too fun!

I was given a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is TOO FUN! Meddie accidentally kills her blind date but turns to her mother and her aunties for help. They decide to get rid of the body but have to do it in a hurry as they are catering/entertaining at a huge wedding in the morning. A BUNCH of mishaps later, this book will have you laughing. Lots of the plot is unreasonable but it's too fun to actually make you care. Can't wait for more escapades with the Aunties! #Netgalley #DialAforAunties
