Sample smells better than final products

IDK if it is my brain or my capacity of smelling, but at store the sample they applied while selling the product smells much better than the real product itself. Do they use a better more concentrated fragance at store for selling purposes? Hmm, it is not the first time it happens to me and for that reason I am returning this product
