Love it

My 13-year old claimed this for her room so she can go to sleep under the stars. She likes learning about the constellations and being able to see them. Cool that you get to put it together yourself. Also love that it takes batteries instead of having to be plugged in and stuck somewhere.

Creative fun!

My grandson really loved this. He is 8. He did need a little help putting it together. But then he spent a long time with it. And has learned some fun new facts about the solar system. Instructions were clear and easy to understand. And the actual toy seemed well made and good quality. I definitely recommend it!

Fun to put together!

This was actually pretty fun to put together. The paper top didn’t really stick together all that well but with some sneaky tape use I got it. It was cool to see the constellations on it and to go outside and try for find the same.

Love the Concept

My 10 yr old daughter and I really love the concept of this kit but it was very hard to put together and keep together. She's a very bright girl and in 5th grade but still needed quite a bit of help from me. Keep that in mind, it definitely is 8+ as the box states and because it is STEM it is a little more complicated than your average kit. My biggest con to the whole box is that it arrived with corroded batteries that had leaked all over inside the bag & out. Due to that I would recommend you open it and check first if you plan on giving it as a gift.

Cool Concept

I really like the idea of this projector but trying to put it together was to much for my kids. I had to step in and help them out and it took a while. Once it was assembled it works pretty well. Bring your patience to set this up.

Wouldn't recommend

My son and i were very much so looking forward to receiving this planetarium star projector. It looked so cool online. When it arrived we were eager to opening it up and see the constellations. Upon opening I realized this is a much more involved DIY project than i thought. Infact it involves entirely assembling this thing, including the wiring. We like to do little projects but this was much more involved and actually took us over 2 hours. This set came with batteries, but they were corroded and covered in red powder straight out of the package. I had to toss them and go out buy a couple of batteries. When it came to popping out the stars with a thumbtack it was a HUGE pain in the butt! There were so many to poke out and the size of the hole ends up being too small. I had to go back with a small nail and make them bigger. Then came turning the top into a dome and taping the two halves together. This was also not easy to do. After everything was finally done we were anxious to see the stars FINALLY!.... It was a dud. Even though i used a small nail to make the holes bigger, the stars still barely shined through. Also the included black tape didnt hold the pieces together for long. A few minutes later it separated. And the next day the battery case fell right off the bottom. The adhesive that was included for the battery case failed to hold the weight of it. After my experience i would not recommend. It was alot of work, took a long time to complete and ended up in the trash because it kept falling apart.

Very nice

My daughter is very interested in space, and the stars. She loves having this in her room. she is now learning the names of the constellations. She uses this for a night light. It takes 2 AA batteries, installation is easy.
