Came broken

Its a cute mug but arrived broken. I contacted Macy’s customer service and they said they would resend the mug and to just keep the broken one. Two weeks go by and I get an email saying they haven’t received the broken mug and to send it or else they’ll charge me so now i’m confused because I already threw the broken mug away.
