Gets dirty

I’m a MK Rhea backpack person and decided to purchase this BP to try a new style. I’m 60, 5’7” 158lbs. My rule of thumb for a bag to look good, it can’t be wider then your hip and this fit the bill. I bought the beige one to take on my trip to Central America for the holidays. I figure it was a neutral color and it would go with all my outfits. Unfortunately, it gets dirty very easily with some dark scratches. Don’t dare have a pen nearby or you will regret it. I’m not sure what I can use to clean it other than with soap and water or leather cleaner which I don’t have with me in this travel. It’s a little stiff and doesn’t have as many compartments as the MK rhea BP.
