i bought this abouttt a month ago and at first i was worried about it because i had little experience with curling my hair, but the dyson makes it so easy and usable for a beginner.

Because there’s no example or visual guide included, it takes trial and error to figure out what works. Some results are good—but I wasted a lot time and product because I used wrong settings or attachment combinations and the curl did not hold. I found myself spending time hunting YouTube and Instagram tutorials to understand even the basics-not my favorite thing to do. It’s an expensive device. Part of paying more is expecting better user support—detailed instructions, helpful guides, and clear matching of attachments to styles.

Not enough power
The curling wand doesn’t grab my hair well. I used a friends and hers was way better. Mine isn’t great

The i.d version is amazing
I have always wanted the Dyson airwrap since it was first released. My friend let me borrow hers years ago. It was easy to use and I had such high hopes. My hair isn’t great at holding a curl or much volume so although it looked nice, it did not last an hour. So I decided it wasn’t for me and that was that. Fast forward to 2025 and again, I borrowed the i.d from a friend and WOW. Dyson have massively improved this over the years. I knew instantly it was better. I didn’t even put any product in my hair and I woke the next morning with it looking virtually the same. That sealed the deal and managed to get a really good deal on the I.d. Yes, this is really expensive but I use it daily. There is so much you can do with your hair at speed. It takes next to no time, especially if you use it with the app which, I thought was a bit gimmicky but it’s actually amazingly clever, consistent and quick. I love it. I am jealous there is a newer version as I want that straightener attachment but that’s a lot heavier priced which I just couldn’t warrant.

Very bad experience
I was really excited to try the Dyson Airwrap ID, but I didn’t even get the chance to use it. Straight out of the box, the device wouldn’t turn on. The filter light was on, but the machine simply wouldn’t work. I followed all the troubleshooting steps and even checked online, but nothing helped. It’s incredibly frustrating to spend this much money on a high-end product and have it malfunction right away — literally on the first day, before I could even test it. I had to go through the inconvenience of sending it back, which was very disappointing. I expected much better from Dyson in terms of quality control. This experience makes me very hesitant to reorder.

So far so good! It makes styling my hair so much easier and saves me so much time!

Good idea, less than ideal product
I can’t get the curls to stay. I was very hopeful this machine would make my life easier, but it takes over an hour to do my hair. The tools also make my hair frizzy.

Disappointint
Needs more easily accessible information on what each attachment is for and how to use them for different hair lengths and styles. The App and online videos only show basic usage. As you have to wait for the Airwrap id to go through it’s timed sequence of functions to curl your hair it can take quite a long time to style your whole head so definitely not a quick curl and go styler. Also, the maintenance video uses a cleaning gadget which wasn’t included with the Airwrap id and there doesn’t seem to be a way to buy one separately. Re attachments, it would be useful to have the possibility of purchasing different sized brush attachments but there don’t seem to be any available on the website. Another annoying thing that I found out after buying was that you can’t take it abroad when you go on holiday as it may not be compatible with the electricity voltage. So overall very disappointed but looks pretty through.
